The windows with pointed arch frames divide the facade in a regular arrangement. Above the gate, there are two large niches on the city side with coupled pointed arch windows and reliefs in the arch fields. Depicted on the left are the busts of a king and on the right of a patrician couple (with hair bands). From the war-destroyed house "Zum Molsberg," two comparable stone half-figures from the 14th century have been preserved, showing middle-class couples in love (currently in the state museum). The pointed, hollowed gate is ribbed vaulted toward the city side and is located about 2 meters below today's street level. The 12-meter-high tower helmet in the form of a steep tent roof and the corner turret towers with their pointed caps display the typical shape of a defensive tower crowning from the 15th century and were partially reconstructed in 1961.
