The wine-growing community of Bodenheim, the gateway to the Rhine Terrace, is only a few minutes' drive from Mainz. Situated above Bodenheim on the outskirts of the village, the Gauer winery - Potsdamer Hof - is home. From here, visitors have a magnificent view of the vineyard hills, the Rhine valley and the Taunus. The wine tavern is a popular destination for hikers and cyclists. The cosy atmosphere of the wine tavern can seat up to 120 people, and the terrace offers a further 80 seats in the courtyard and on the lawn during the summer months. The wine tavern is barrier-free. The Gauer family and their team serve their own high-quality Rheinhessen wines and traditional dishes for their guests.
During the summer months, the popular "Schorlegewitter" event takes place outside on Mondays. Catering and live music ensure a cosy evening with Rhine-Hessian flair and a great view from a deck chair or in convivial company in the winery courtyard.
