When the Groß-Gerau Safari Park closed its doors in 1984, Peter Schweikhard was raising two tiger babies with a bottle. After the park went bankrupt, they simply stayed in Ingelheim. The non-profit association was founded in 2006. The first came in 2007 Tiger offspring into the world. There are now seven Bengal tigers living in the Waldeck Tiger Garden. During the opening times, the animals can be admired free of charge from 4 meters away from Friday to Sunday. Guided tours are also offered:

- Groups: by appointment only - € 4.00 per person
- Public tours: Sundays at 3 p.m. - € 4.00 per person (in dry weather, at least 7 total participants)
- personal tiger tour: ONLY by appointment, fee of 28 € for up to 7 people, each additional one costs 4 €

Opening hours: Friday: 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday & Sunday: 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
