In a good, honest wine are positive powers. This basic idea encourages the Hemmes family for generations at work with winegrowing and cellar. They aim for using the natural potential of the best vineyard locations as sustainable as possible so 'a piece of homeland can be experienced'. That works: the winery Hemmes almost collects awards from the experts. Popular wine magazines and both of the most important german wine guides Gault Millau and Eichelmann regularly discover delicious and expressive wines that are fun.
The vinotheque is located in the lovingly restored old village school building. Winemaker Frank Hemmes as village school master does not hand out grades but from time to time he makes exciting connections between his subjects biology, geology and local history and the wine.
