Alzey Land & Rhine-Hessian Switzerland

In nominal reference to the Alpine region, the extension of the North Palatine Uplands, characterized by forests, meadows, streams, and gentle hills, was designated as the Rhine-Hessian Switzerland nature reserve. At the heart of this holiday region lies the municipality of Wöllstein with its eight local communities. The western part of the Alzey-Land municipality is part of the Rhine-Hessian Switzerland nature and recreational area. The Alzey-Land municipality consists of 24 local communities that are arranged in a ring around the district town of Alzey. The individual local communities are still strongly influenced by agriculture today, adorned with historic half-timbered houses and magnificent manor houses.
