With the income earned from Haus zum Aschaffenberg (Aschaffenberg House), Gutenberg's cousin Arnold Gelthus vouched for the start-up financing of the printing workshop in the Humbrechthof (Humbrecht Court). Today it is the oldest half-timbered house in Mainz in the picturesque Kirschgarten (Cherry Orchard) – in the middle of the quaint old town.
