Over 10 years ago, an idea gradually became reality. The Guntersblum initiative "Rotkehlchen" planned and built an attractive viewing point in the southern district of Guntersblum, the Leckbart-Haisje. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on November 13, 2007. Over 1,000 hours of voluntary work went into creating this vineyard cottage as a gem in the middle of the vineyards. The official opening and inauguration finally took place in April 2008. Today, the RheinTerrassenWeg and the Lutherweg lead directly past the Leckbart-Haisje. The idyllic rest area with a large table of wine offers hikers and cyclists a wonderful view over the Rhine Valley to Frankfurt, over the Odenwald with the Melibokus and as far as Ludwigshafen/Mannheim. Incidentally, the name Leckbart-Haisje is derived from the former district name. The term "Leckbart" is intended to refer to a gourmet.
