Theater StreuLicht: A Sensory Journey into the Moment – in a Unique Place “Aesthetic experience is a manifestation, it is a testimony and celebration of the life of a civilization, a means to advance its development, as well as the final judgment on the quality of a civilization.” – John Dewey
Theater StreuLicht, with its performance and production venue in Schornsheim, is a member of the State Association of Professional Independent Theaters in Rhineland-Palatinate (Laprofth). In a former horse stable, theater can be experienced up close in its diverse forms of expression: music, literature, drama, musical theater, and participatory formats such as audio walks, sound tours, and dance performances. The focus is primarily on in-house productions in cooperation with professional artist colleagues.
In the area of cultural education, we primarily engage with young people. They come into contact with the wide range of aesthetic experiences, create their own theater characters, experiment with sounds, explore role-playing, and participate in workshops on related topics such as listening.
The artistic director of the theater is Susanne Schwarz-Steinherz, a director, dramaturge, author, and creative instigator. She studied theater studies (M.A.) in Vienna and Munich, theater pedagogy (BuT) in Heidelberg, completed voice pedagogy training at the Lichtenberg Institute, and a course in "Scenic Interpretation of Music and Theater" at ISIM/State Opera in Berlin.
Our mobile productions "Name: Sophie Scholl" and "Wilhelm Tell" are aimed at a young audience. We perform them at our theater and other venues, such as schools. If you would like to book performances or a theater pedagogical project, please contact us directly by phone or email.
