November 2024
Where just a few days ago a lively sea of colorful leaves shaped the vineyards, bathing the 1,000 rolling hills of Rheinhessen in a golden light, the sight of bare vines is now slowly emerging. The seemingly endless rows disappear into the mist. The thinning vines once again allow a clear view through the rows and signal the imminent start of pruning for vineyards with extensive acreage—marking the beginning of the new wine year.
Winemakers are now spending more time in the cellar, separating the yeast from the clear wine, filtering, and even bottling the first wines. These will be available for purchase before Christmas. Look forward to discovering 2024 white wines with delightful fruitiness and youthful berry acidity. Many wineries are now hosting festive weekend presentations during the Advent season. Take this opportunity to stock your wine cellar for the upcoming holidays.
