Galerie im Burggrafiat: "Nah dran"

The artists' group kunstraum-alzey established itself as a loose interest group following the first Alzey shop window exhibition, which took place as part of the Rhineland-Palatinate Day 2016. In 2017, the first joint exhibition took place in the Nikolai Church in Alzey. Further exhibitions followed in shop windows in Alzey, at the district music school in Alzey, in the Alzey-Worms municipality and in various towns in the Alzey-Worms district. Together with members of the impuls(e) group, the town council and the tourist office, artists from kunstraum-alzey have been organizing a shop window exhibition in Alzey stores every two years since 2018. In the current exhibition in the Burggrafiat, the artists explore the different aspects of the term 'close-up'. This can mean personal, spatial or temporal proximity and can relate to nature, the environment, human interaction, the past and future, society, politics, the artistic position itself and much more. This diversity is also reflected in the artistic means used: on display are works of digital and video art, photography, glass art, graphics, installations, calligraphy, painting, sculpture and others. On Sundays, someone from the circle of artists will always be present and will be happy to guide you through the exhibition if you are interested.
