LICHT “Winterlieder ‘With her program ’LICHT - Winterlieder”, a mixture of traditional German Christmas songs and original compositions, Jessica Gall brightens up the dark time of the year with her profound timbre.Warm and expressive, but without pathos, she sings classics such as “Es ist ein Ros' entsprungen” or “Es kommt ein Schiff geladen”.Jessica Gall has released five albums, sung her way into the top ten of the German jazz charts and contributed songs to television and cinema productions. With her husband and pianist Robert Matt and her long-standing band, the Berlin native has created her own sound, moving away from fixed genres and creating her very own music between jazz reminiscence and singer/songwriter renaissance. Berlin-born singer Jessica Gall burst onto the German jazz scene 14 years ago to much fanfare. Her debut album “Just Like You” was celebrated by audiences and press alike, and her second CD “Little Big Soul” went straight into the top ten of the German jazz charts. This was followed by further albums and song contributions in TV and cinema productions. Her music breathes tranquillity and tempo, has depth and distinctive melodies and seems to be at home in jazz, folk and pop without boundaries. Jessica Gall studied jazz singing at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin, but allowed herself every freedom in her search for her own style early on. Together with her trio, which has been at her side since the beginning of her career, Jessica Gall will present her personal favorite selection of her songs from recent years tonight.
