Symphony concert ‘Pini di Roma’

Look forward to an extraordinary classical concert at the usual high level with the Rhine-Main Symphony Orchestra.

The programme begins with Mendelssohn's lively and joyful 4th Symphony, his ‘Italian’. This is followed by the profound Kol Nidrei by Bruch, a work for solo viola and orchestra with the young violist Lorenz Niemann. The concert concludes with the colourful tone poem ‘Pini di Roma’ by Respighi. Join us on a visit to the pines of Rome in very different places: ‘The Pines of Villa Borghese’, ‘The Pines near a Catacomb’, ‘The Pines on the Laniculum Hill’ and finally ‘The Pines of the Via Appia’, the famous ancient Roman road.

After the last concerts, the press wrote ‘Entertaining and of high musical quality’ and ‘The concert thrilled the audience to such an extent that there were minutes of applause and standing ovations at the end’.

The Rhine-Main Symphony Orchestra was founded in Ingelheim in 2015. The orchestra is now known far beyond the borders of Ingelheim and regularly performs in Wiesbaden, Mainz, Bad Kreuznach, Bingen and other cities in the region.
