The Salon Quartet "Jalousie" has been playing since 1996 and has made it its mission to perform music from the "good old days" in the classic string quartet format. While this genre was often seen as a bit "out of date" in the past, it has experienced a true renaissance in recent years. The ensemble's repertoire ranges from "light" classical music to traditional salon and café music, as well as modern pieces, covering everything from A like (Bach) Air to Z like The Gypsy Baron: marches and waltzes, landlers and polkas, serenades and serenades, ragtime and hits, tangos and musicals, sambas and rumbas, film music and sentimental ballads. Thematic programs have included:
• In a Small Pastry Shop - Café Music from the Good Old Days
• From Opera, Operetta, and Musical
• From Waltz to Tango - a Musical World Tour
• As Time Goes By - Film Music from The Blue Angel to James Bond

The Salon Quartet "Jalousie" is not only a regular guest at various events in Saarland, the Palatinate, Rheinhessen, and the Mannheim area but also performs at private celebrations. The ensemble has been contracted for over 20 years with an English river cruise company for concerts on the Rhine and Moselle (in Mainz, Rüdesheim, Speyer, Mannheim, among others).
