‘Ballads and fairy tales’

Ballads and fairy tales; they all tell wondrous stories and occur in all cultures; they can be beautiful and cruel, shocking and hopeful at the same time. The three artists will take you on a journey into this mysterious world.

Between the songs by Schubert, Schumann, Loewe and Mahler, where voice and piano music richly embellish the singing, you will hear the themes of some song texts in the spoken word. In sung, lyrical or epic form, they tell of fairies, kings and witches, among others. Stylistic elements of ballads (monologue/dialogue) or the epic, broad narration of fairy tales are deepened through dynamic vocal nuances.
