In cooperation with the history club Nierstein a QR-Code-based city tour is to be developed and implemented. At approximately 50 stations along tourist routes in Nierstein and Schwabsburg signs are attached with QR codes. The codes can be scanned in with a smartphone or tablet and provide information specially prepared for mobile devices about the relevant attraction.
There are 50 digital sound recordings that are created and available for this project in several languages (German, English, French and Dutch). The program automatically recognizes the "native language" of the mobile device and delivers the information in the appropriate language. The sound recordings contain explanations of the history of the sight or the historic buildings, as well as a reference to the next station.
