Today Uschi and Lennart's journey starts in Mainz, the state capital of Rhineland-Palatinate. The historic city directly on the Rhine offers visitors many sights such as the banks of the Rhine, the Gutenberg Museum, the old town and the Mainz Cathedral. Above all, Uschi Lennart would like to show the Mainz market breakfast, which stands for the Rhine-Hessian zest for life, wine enjoyment and culinary delights - in short Weck, Worscht & Woi.
At the stand of the Zehe-Clauß family, Lennart learns something about Rhine-Hessian wine and why the "Silvaner" grape variety is so important for Rheinhessen, the largest contiguous wine-growing region in Germany. By the way, there is also a language course from the Ur-Rheinhessin on the way up the Rhine.
