The vintage does not actually need to be given on the label, but it is common practice. Thanks to the differences given by nature (e.g. different maturity), each year has different qualities.

In Rheinhessen, there is aspecial culture of vineyard tours, that is offered bymany winemakers: A "Weinbergsrundfahrt". It is a driving wine tasting. The visitors sit on a covered wagon pulled by a tractor. While taking a tour through the vineyards, they enjoy the classic "Weck, Worscht and Woi" picnic and good Rheinhessen wines, while passing beautiful views and other attractions.
