The Rhine Cycle Path in Rheinhessen takes you on about 90 km from Worms, from cathedral to cathedral, through idyllic floodplain areas to the state capital Mainz and to the Rhine-Nahe corner in Bingen, the 'Gateway to the Middle Rhine Valley.' Almost flat and mostly paved, it offers a delightful experience for both leisure cyclists and road cyclists. In the north, you'll find the next stages of the Romantic Rhine towards Koblenz and Cologne, and in the south, those of the Palatinate towards Speyer.
From the Rhine to the Wine. A delightful circuit with gentle ascents, magnificent views, hospitable villages, and a conclusion in the historically rich city of Worms. Connect the Rhine and Nibelungen city of Worms in a square with the charming Zellertal and the lower Rheinterrasse.
Worms and the Nibelungs are inseparably linked, as significant parts of the saga unfold in the city and its surroundings. Inspired landmarks such as the Hagen Monument and the Siegfried Fountain shape the cityscape. The multimedia Nibelungen Museum sheds light on the medieval heroes, and high-profile actors bring them to life during the Nibelung Festival in the shadow of Worms Cathedral.
Experience Oppenheim, nestled in the picturesque Rhine landscape, is a charming town with a rich history and welcoming atmosphere. The impressive old town, characterized by historic half-timbered houses and narrow streets, invites you to stroll and discover. A particular gem is St. Catherine's Church, which towers high above the roofs with its distinctive tower. The Gothic structure impresses not only with its architecture but also with the breathtaking view that one can enjoy from the church over the city and the Rhine.
