Müsel winery

The Müsel winery is a family business that has been involved in viticulture and the production of high-quality wines for several generations in idyllic Worms-Herrnsheim. Today, viticultural technician Hans-Jürgen Müsel is managing the winery together with his son Christian Müsel. Many new ideas and suggestions are incorporated into the wine-making process. The winery's goal is to achieve the greatest possible care in the vineyard and thus the best quality for the wines. In order to reach this goal, particular emphasis is placed on yield regulation and foliage work in the vineyard. By strictly adhering to the highest quality criteria and a single-varietal vinification of the wines, very digestible and expressive quality wines are produced. Regional grape varieties such as Riesling, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir, Gewürztraminer, Dornfelder and Portugieser are cultivated, but also international grape varieties like Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Herrnsheimer Schloß

Herrnsheimer Schloss (Herrnsheim Castle)

Castle, castle park and chapel: picturesque location

One of the most beautiful castles in Rheinhessen: Herrnsheim Castle from the first half of the 19th century, today owned by the city of Worms. However, the foundations of the castle are much older: a moated castle already stood here around 1460. The eventful history of the castle is closely linked to the noble family of Dalberg. The single vineyard nestles against the castle park and runs parallel to the Rhine towards Osthofen, including the small St. Anna Chapel. Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Gewürztraminer or Sauvignon Blanc grow here on loess and sand. The castle and castle grounds are used for cultural events, including the stylish Herrnsheim Wine Summer.

Monsheimer Rosengarten

Monsheimer Rosengarten

Devotional, romantic or humorous?

The location was mentioned in a document in 1750 with the name "in the rose garden". The planting of the noble flower, the rose, may have led to its name. Often, however, these vineyard anmen point to early medieval burial sites. Which of these is true, we do not know today. But the single vineyard is quite romantic today in spring - with pink blossoming almond trees. And is adorned by two trulli, small white round houses. The radio tower trullo looks particularly funny. A funny architectural ensemble of brick on the one hand and a steel construction on the other. A bench and a round table invite you to rest under the trees. The "Pfrimm", a small river (the locals say "the Bach") flows by not far away. Monsheim and Kriegsheim (a district of Monsheim) have over 20 bridges. A wide variety of grape varieties grow on loess soil with sand, gravel and clay portions. The vineyard can be found under the name "Monsheimer Rosengarten" as well as "Kriegsheimer Rosengarten".
