Winery Scherner-Kleinhanß
The winery Scherner-Kleinhanß in Flörsheim-Dalsheim has been a family possession since 1726. The operating buildings of the winery are all under monument protection and some of them were built in the time before Charles V. On 11.5 ha, the Scherner-Kleinhanß winery is cultivating predominantly traditional grape varieties in natural cultivation. The Pinot varieties and Riesling form the main part. Most of the wines are made in a dry style. With low yields, selective hand-picking and careful working methods in the cellar, Klaus Scherner lives up to a high quality standard. Following his philosophy of preserving as much of the soil and grape variety as possible in the wine, he uses the various soil types of sand, gravel, shell limestone and loess loam to produce different mineral wines.
