Mainz State Museum

The Mainz State Museum located at the centre of the city at Grosse Bleiche is one of the oldest museums in Germany.  The Baroque building, known as the Golden-Ross-Kaserne, and the contemporary steel and glass wing opening towards the courtyard, together with the electoral stables, form the charming heart of the recently restored and modernised museum. Bingen am Rhein

Hindenburgbrücke

The railway line on the left bank of the Rhine to the then French border led over the Hindenburg bridge. At its opening in August 1915, especially military-strategic aspects played a role. Since their demolition by German troops in March 1945, only ruins remind of the bridge.

In the Hildegard Forum of the Sisters of the Cross, exhibitions, lectures and seminars deal with the saint. A…

Kulturufer Bingen

The walker along the 3 km long riverbank promenade is accompanied by a lush sea of blossoms on one side and fantastic views on the other. From the eastern end to the Rhine-Nahe Eck, there is a magnificent view of the vineyards of the Rheingau with the mighty Germania of the Niederwald Monument near Rüdesheim. The landing stage is…
