In cooperation with the IHK Rheinhessen, mainzplus City Marketing GmbH, Wirtschaftsförderungsgesellschaft Worms mbH and the two counties of Mainz-Bingen and Alzey-Worms, Rheinhessen-Touristik GmbH has a study on the economic factor tourism for Mainz, Worms and Rheinhessen at dwif consulting from Munich instructed.

Results of the study show that in 2013 in Rheinhessen 25.5 million day-tripers and 1.85 million overnight stays were counted. These guests generated total revenue of EUR 911.7 million. Of these, 42.5 percent went to the retail trade, 41.3 percent to the hospitality industry and 16.2 percent to service providers. Fiscally, tourism generated revenue from VAT and income tax of € 88 million.
