Mandowar „Hellboys from Cow“

You only see three people with small instruments on stage, but you hear ‘The Lion King’. This is how singer Nils Hofmann likes to describe Mandowar's recipe for success. With just a mandolin, guitar and ukulele bass, he performs with his two band mates and interprets great rock and metal songs. Classics such as AC/DC's ‘Hells Bells’, Metallica's ‘Enter Sandman’ or Alice Cooper's ‘Poison’ seem surprisingly fresh in Mandowar's versions. Metal becomes polka, rock becomes country. Mandowar succeeds in creating an astonishing crossover of styles that gives each song its very own flavour. The mandolin always plays a key role and has shaped the band's name. Manowar - the loudest band in the world - was also the inspiration for the name. Of course, Manowar hits are not missing from the band's two-hour programme.
