Winery Norbert Michel

The Norbert Michel winery is located in Gundheim, in the southern part of Rheinhessen. Since 2005, after completing his studies in viticulture in Geisenheim,  Thorsten Michel has been managing the winery together with his father. Special attention is given to red wine grape varieties in particular Pinot Noir. In the white wine area, the focus is on the Pinot grape varieties, as well as the Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc. Thorsten Michel is responsible for the vinification of the wines and brings innovative ideas from his studies. His goal in every vintage is producing varietal, characterful white wines and red wines with power and expressiveness. Thus, the white wines inspire by a radiant freshness and fine fruit. In the traditional mash fermentation process, the red wines are fermented into something big during aging in large oak barrels or barriques.
