Since 2006 son Jens has been working with great enthusiasm in the family business Werther Windisch. He is responsible for the wine industry and the driving force in innovation. Together with father Hans Albert he works hand in hand for the best quality. The aim is varietal, easy drinking and good estate wines, fine, mineral local wines and single vineyard wines that reflect a craftsmanship and are not afraid to show where they come from. The vineyards are all about meticulous vineyard work in combination with old vines. A gentle grape processing, careful vinification in the cellar, traditional wooden barrels or a spontaneous fermentation are just a few ingredients to achieve the set goals. Among the most important grape varieties you will find Silvaner, Riesling, Pinot Blanc and Portugieser - with Silvaner having been maintained for generations and being the main grape variety.
